Glampology Emperor Bell Tent at Evolve

At 2017 Evolve festival at Founders Park in Nelson New Zealand, a Glampology Emperor Bell Tent was set up as a meditation space. The festival was scheduled to run from Friday evening 20/01/2017 until Sunday evening 22/01/2017. Storm force winds and heavy rain were forecast for Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.

Sika Workshop in Glampology Emperor Bell tent at Evolve

By Saturday afternoon some workshops scheduled to be held outside had been relocated to the Glampology Emperor Bell Tent.  By the Saturday evening a tent accomodating two of the festivals musical performers had flooded. The performers, Charlie and Carline were re-housed in the Glampology Emperor bell tent.

Happy Glampers

Overnight Storm force winds collapsed the main marquee and forced most of the campers to be evacuated from the camp site to buildings in founders park, however the Glampology Emperor bell tent stayed up all night.

Campsite destruction

Sunday morning the level of destruction in the camp site could be seen

Interestingly, the tents which survived the storm were the Glampology Emperor Bell Tent and the smaller Alpine tunnel tents. Thanks to Chai and Bex for organising such a wonderful festival, despite the horrendous weather and the cancellation of sundays festivities, it was uplifting to see a positive vibe retained throughout by all attendees. Also thanks for giving the Glampology tent the ultimate trial. After this I can feel confident that my tents can out perform most in the most extreme situations. Looking forward to Evolve 2018, and hopefully better weather.

I'll finish with some feedback from a customer whose Glampology Emperor Bell Tent survived the same storm left unattended in Golden Bay.

"Kia Ora Rodney,
I saw your tent up at Evolve before the weather set in an blew us all to bits..!  Your tent was one of the only ones left standing!  That wind was intense!  I also saw an awning thing on it that looked interesting…I was so worried about my tent at home during that storm but all was well and still standing!
Cheers, Shanti"
